Gallbladder surgery is sometimes the only solution if you have a serious gallbladder problem. There are many people who went through the gallbladder problem and eventually went to have a gallbladder surgery. This surgical procedure is called cholecystectomy. There are two types of cholecystectomy: laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy.

Most of gallbladder patients want to know about their chances to recover and to live normally after the operation. The chances are above fifty percent, but the results aren’t always perfect as one could hope. The most important issue for gallbladder patients is certainly the pain and how to get rid of it. So they usually ask if the pain will finally go away after the surgery.

If we put aside all the possible questions and answers, gallbladder surgery is sometimes necessary. This is the case if there is gallbladder disease. If you have other problems like gallstones, pain or gallbladder attacks you do not necessarily need to have your gallbladder removed. Sometimes gallbladder problems can be solved by making changes in one’s diet and lifestyle. Keep in mind that even if you decide to go to a surgery, you will have to change your diet after the gallbladder removal. So why wouldn’t you try doing that before you consider gallbladder operation? Ger a second opinion before you make a decision. Data show that even those who had their gallbladder removed still have pain in the abdomen, meaning that the surgery is not necessarily final solution to the problem.

If your doctor thinks that it is best for you to take the gallbladder out and if the second opinion on this matter is the same – then you will have to do it for your own good.  Be well disciplined and follow the instructions regarding the period that follows the surgery. You life style and diet habits will have to change.
